Material detail

Stone, water, brass, a shadow on a wall.

A property key visual in the Material detail look

The art direction

A close study of the materials rather than the building: stone grain, timber joinery, brushed metal, the surface of water, planting against a rendered wall, the line where two materials meet. The frame fills with texture, with no full facade and no faces. Low raking light so every surface shows its grain, shallow depth of field with a single plane sharp, restrained natural palette. It should sell the quality of the specification in one frame, and stay faithful to the materials shown in the render.

That paragraph goes to the model with your renders, alongside whatever you write in your own words. It sets the light, the lens and the grade. It never touches the building: storeys, massing, materials, window rhythm and landscaping stay exactly as the architect drew them.
